Cooking club

This term we made some savoury rice and the last two weeks we created a fruity compote. We used fresh berries and we used apples.

We decided to taste it at school as an accompaniment to rice pudding. This first group preferred the berries, the second preferred the apple!

For the past two sessions we used raspberries, apples and blueberries with creme fraiche, double cream and meringues to make a 'fruity fool.'  It was too nice to take home so we ate it in school!

For the past two weeks we have been using the 'school grown' pumpkins to create a quick and easy soup.

After roasting the pumpkins we added fried onions and vegetable stock. Once blended we stirred in cream.

 

As you can see the results got a thumbs up!
