The children will continue their work with Swinderby Parish Council working on Jubilee Park!
We will be working alongside FOSS to fundraise for new play equipment.
We will be fundraising for important charities throughout the year.

September 2022
School Council Launch Event!
We launched this academic year with a 'Say Hello to Yellow Day' to raise money for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. It certainly created a bright and colourful start to September.
Children In Need
November 2022
The School Council organised a fantastic fundraising event for Children In Need this year. We took part in RunPudsey2022 where we completed a mile around the playground - this took us 12 laps!!
We also dressed up in our Pyjamas or wore something spotty!
Through donations and fundraising we raised a fantastic £547.07 - we even got a mention on the local news!

The School Council would like to say a huge hello!
This year we have a council member from each year group (with two from Reception) so that every one of your questions or ideas for the school can be heard by one of your classmates.

Harvest Festival
The School Council worked together to ensure all of the food bank items were safely collected together and then positioned these in the church ready for Harvest Festival.
The School Councillors then handed these over to the Lincoln Larder after the festival.
School Council Meeting 20.10.21
Firstly, we discussed how their first mission of helping at our harvest festival went really well and they worked as a great team to lay out all the food.
On the calendar, we then discussed our two main upcoming events next term:
- Friday 19th November – Children in Need
Ideas: strictly sparkle – dress up smart and have a school talent show
Colouring competition
Fancy dress
- Friday 10th December – Christmas Jumper Day
Ideas: Christmas theme cake competition

Best dressed award
We then discussed fundraising ideas to help raise money for new play equipment at school:
- A car boot sale of old toys
- Sponsored run
- Fancy dress days
The school council have also suggested having a suggestions box, so that any child can make a suggestion and we can then discuss these at meetings.
Finally, we discussed how we could create an incentive for children to earn Dojo points. Some councillors like the idea of a non uniform day each term.
A few more ideas consisted of:
- 2 people in each class with the highest dojo points win a prize each term
- A treat afternoon or hour if the class reaches a certain number of Dojo points each term
Next meeting:
Next meeting we have agreed that we will plan our Children in Need fundraising event and ensure that the suggestions box is up and running.

April 2021 - Project Swinderby Play Park!
The school council had a very exciting meeting with Lynne from the Parish Council about new play equipment at Swinderby park.
The children gave some great ideas and plan to carry out surveys to find out what the children and adults of Swinderby would like to see at their park.

Red Nose Day 2021 - A School for Superheroes
The children had a fantastic, fun filled day dressed as superheroes! In the afternoon each bubble took part in some 'super' activities. Such as: Red Nose and spoon races, throw the Red Nose and spin and balance races! The children raised over £100 for such a great cause! Well done superheroes of Swinderby!
Dress to Express
Dress to Express - for children's mental health week, the children came to school dressed in clothes to express their personality - they also took part in mindfulness activities throughout the week, such as building a den to share a story and making rainbow toast!

Reverse Advent Calendar- December 2018
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who donated items towards the reverse advent calendar this year. Me and the school council were completely shocked by how many things people kindly donated. The charity was ever so grateful and were astounded by everyone's generosity, so thanks again!
On Friday 24th March we raised money for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day by wearing red noses and/or something red. Also we held a cake sale. Watch this space to find out the final amount raised.

Mrs Lucas and the School Council have been busy selling Red Noses ready for Red Nose Day on Friday 24th March. We have raised £80.00 for this good cause. Unfortunately the Red Noses have all sold but you can buy them from many retailers.
The whole school enjoyed World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March by dressing up as a book character and also bringing in a book to swap. Classes participated in their own book related activities and Mrs Lucas presented a World Book Day themed assembly.
Class 2 were fortunate to have two adults volunteer to read a book to the class. One being Milly Molly Mandy and the other The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. Thank you very much to Mrs Cook and Mrs Sumpter for giving up their time to do that.
Our next event will be Red Nose Day so watch this space.
Thank you for your support with Comic Relief's Red Nose Day. We have raised nearly £200 in all. Final figure to follow. The cakes were delicious and enjoyed by all. The children looked wonderful in their red clothing.
