The Governing Body

The Governing Body meets as one team, six times per year.

The purpose of governance is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.

The Governing Body has three strategic core functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  • Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and

  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

The Governing Board delegates some of its work to working groups and monitoring pairs/individuals.The full terms of reference can be found here along with the consitution and governance structure of the governing body.

Governing Body Prayer

We read out our governing body prayer at the start of every meeting.

Opening Prayer

Enable us to use our gifts to support our school in its vision. May our discussions and decisions enable all in our community to flourish.  Shape our meeting through the school values of:

Truthfulness

Compassion

Forgiveness

Respect

We make this prayer through Jesus Christ. Amen

Governor Impact

Governor impact is crucial and at the end of each meeting the governors collectively agree on the impact statements which seek to quantify the impact of their meeting. These impact statements focus on the three core purposes of the governing body mentioned above.

The statements are reviewed on an annual basis as part of a process of continual improvement. The statements for this past two years are provided here:
