Y3 & Y4 Girls Football Tournament

We took part in the #LetGirlsPlay Biggest Ever Girls Football Session. On Friday 8th March 2024, the Biggest Ever Football Session was back and what an incredible way to celebrate International Women's Day! The aim was to get as many girls as possible playing football on the same day in schools across England ... and what a great time we had.

What an excellent start to Swinderby's new football season, with a win over Collingham on Thursday 28 September. Everyone had a great time and it was lovely to see such fantastic team spirit 

Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House, London came to Swinderby! Miss Loom had a great day, along with staff from other local schools. We are currently working on a Nutcracker project which will see the Y5/6 children visting the Royal Opera House in London and them performing alongside other schools at the Terry O'Toole Theatre in North Hykeham.

We are super proud to announce that Swinderby has won the Gold School Games award for 21/22. Last year we achieved Bronze so we were hoping for a silver this year but we've gone above and beyond and come away with the top award. Well done everyone

Common Wealth Skills Festival

On Friday 20th May, Year 3 and 4 attended a Common Wealth Skills Festival ran by Lincoln University students. The children were a little bit nervous before attending the event as they were not sure what to expect. However, after each activity was explained, they could not wait to join in.

The Sports Ambassadors have had great fun setting up and leading activities.

Cricket Skills Event

The Y3 children had a great time at the Cricket event yesterday. The children grew in confidence throughout the day and enjoyed completing a range of Cricket skilled activities.

The Sports Ambassadors have been making their own posters to promote their lunchtime sports clubs.

This week Swinderby All Saints Primary introduced a new and exciting opportunity for children to become Sports Ambassadors. We were extremely excited to welcome our first ever Sports Ambassadors during our weekly Celebration assembly. Their training starts next Friday, so watch this space!

Football Tournament

What an afternoon. Some brilliant football and teamwork at the tournament. We won 2 matches, drew 1 and lost 1. We lost 1:0 in the semi finals. We were the smallest school there by far but we held our own. All the staff at Swinderby All Saints Church of England Primary School couldn't be prouder!

Dance Workshop

Thank you to our former pupil Amy Watson from AJ's School of DANCE for coming into school today.

As you can see, the children had a brilliant time.

Fun Run!

On Wednesday 16th June, all children participated in a whole school Fun Run to help raise money towards the outdoor play equipment. I am pleased to announce that a grand total of £1130.40 was raised. Thank you!

Tokyo Trail

On Friday the 28th of May, the whole school participated in an event called 'Tokyo Trail'. The Tokyo Trail provided the opportunity for children to strive for a personal best, compete against others and represent a team in their very own school Olympics. The action packed day allowed participants to access a carousel of Olympic sports as well as attending an opening and closing ceremony which linked into the history and core values of the Olympic Games.

Mr Motivator

Today we were super excited to be joined by the one, the only Mr Motivator! The children in school and all of the staff had great fun following his energetic fitness class! 

PE Teachers

This term Year 1 have been looking at the importance of exercise. They designed their own fitness circuit and then demonstrated how to completed each activity. They had great fun taking on the role of the teacher. 

Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme

Back in May we received the amazing news that our Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme application had been successful! The children had lots of fun using the new equipment during an after school Football club.

2019 - 2020 Sporting News

GB Visit!

We were extremely excited when we heard that Steve Frew, a GB Gymnast was visiting our school. The visit consisted of participating in a whole school fitness circuit! Then Steve demonstrated why and how he became a gymnast. Some children were even lucky enough to be involved in some of Steve's amazing gymnastic moves!

Fencing Lessons

Every week all Year 5/6 children will participate in a Fencing lesson. It has been fantastic to provide a sport which the children would not normally participate in during school hours. 

St Michael's Girls Tournament

On Tuesday 29th of October a very nervous team of Under 11's girls participated in a Football Tournament. Throughout each match the girls play improved. Both Mrs Lill and Mr Owen were very impressed with the level of teamwork, encouragement and joy which the girls displayed throughout each match. Though it is the taking part which counts, I am very pleased to announce that the girls WON THE TOURNAMENT!!!

2018-2019 Sporting News

Friendly High 5 Match

On Wednesday 10th July a team of KS1 and KS2 children travelled to The Holt to play High Five against a Year 5/6 Netball Team. On arrival the children were extremely nervous. However, this did not stop them from making some fantastic drives, interceptions and amazing passes. We scored an amazing goal and most importantly we had fun! Well done!

NEST World Cup

On Tuesday 2nd July, we took 2 teams to take part in the NEST World Cup. Swinderby B lost in the Trophy semi-final, but Swinderby A made it through to the final over the Cup where they lost to a very good North Scarle team. Over the 9 matches, it is the best I have ever seen them play. Well done! We did come home with one trophy – Swinderby A had Player of the Tournament.

Girls Football Competition

On Friday 28th June a team of KS2 girls competed in a Football competition. Though the girls were very nervous, they did not let that stop them having a great time and working fantastically together. Throughout the day their confidence grew. We had some great saves by our fantastic goal keeper and we scored a great goal! Well done girls!

Football Competition

On Friday 7th June a mixed team of Year 4, 5 and 6 boys attended a Football competition at Lincoln City Football Club. Throughout the day the children showed great team work and a range of fancy footwork. Mr Owen was extremely proud of their behaviour throughout the day. Well done boys!

School Games Year 3/4 Sporting Competition

On Thursday 16th May Year 3 and 4's had a very fun afternoon at The Lincoln Academy today as they took part in a special sports events. There were lots of activities to have a go at including tag rugby, boules and tri-golf. All of the children had so much fun and really enjoyed it - it was a bonus having such lovely weather too!

School Games Tag Rugby Festival 

On Friday 8th March a selected team made up of Year 5 girls and boys attended a Tag Rugby Festival. From 9:30am - 11:30am the children participated in a range of Tag Rugby skills which enabled them to develop their understanding of the game. In the afternoon they played 7 mini games of Tag Rugby. Though the children were a little bit nervous at the start of their first game, they worked together and communicated well, allowing them to win their first game. Both Miss Maloney and Mr Owen were impressed with their behaviour, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. Well done!!
