Our topic is 'Space'

We are so excited about our new topic! So far we have looked at the heliocentric and geocentric theories about the sun and the planets. Some large planets have popped up in the classroom with the sun in the middle - can you guess which theory this is?

We have researched several famous astronauts - Neil Armstrong, Yuri Gagarin, Helen Sharman and Tim Peake and we are busy writing reports on our findings!

We have found out what astronauts eat in space and we had a lot of fun making and sampling an astronaut pudding!

We have been really enjoying our music sessions this term. We have listened to various pieces of music and created our own ostinato with a space theme. We have even had a go at noting down our music in order to perform.
We have been busy designing, making and using some of our own astronaut equipment - jet packs and special exploring boxes.

Today we took part in the launch of our new topic by taking part in...

'I'm an Olympian... Get me out of here!'

We were faced with several different boxes containing unknown things, we were so brave putting our hands in and having a good feel around. We felt long things, slimy things and crunchy, damp items!

We also had some unusual dishes on offer! We were again very brave eating such critters!

At the end we had to decide whether they were predator or prey.

How did you find the trial?
