GB Visit!

We were extremely excited when we heard that Steve Frew, a GB Gymnast was visiting our school. The visit consisted of participating in a whole school fitness circuit! Then Steve demonstrated why and how he became a gymnast. Some children were even lucky enough to be involved in some of Steve's amazing gymnastic moves!

A huge thank you to every one who collected the Aldi stickers. This is such a massive achievement and we are very thankful for all of your support!

Fencing Lessons

Every week all Year 5/6 children will participate in a Fencing lesson. It has been fantastic to provide a sport which the children would not normally participate in during school hours.

St Michael's Girls Tournament

On Tuesday 29th of October a very nervous team of Under 11's girls participated in a Football Tournament. Throughout each match the girls play improved. Both Mrs Lill and Mr Owen were very impressed with the level of teamwork, encouragement and joy which the girls displayed throughout each match. Though it is the taking part which counts, I am very pleased to announce that the girls WON THE TOURNAMENT!!!

NEST Event

On the 17th October all year 5/6 children attended an inclusive multi skills event at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy. Throughout the event it was create to see the children really enjoying themselves and working together with children from other schools.

Friendly High 5 Match

On Wednesday 10th July a team of KS1 and KS2 children travelled to The Holt to play High Five against a Year 5/6 Netball Team. On arrival the children were extremely nervous. However, this did not stop them from making some fantastic drives, interceptions and amazing passes. We scored an amazing goal and most importantly we had fun! Well done!

NEST World Cup

On Tuesday 2nd July, we took 2 teams to take part in the NEST World Cup. Swinderby B lost in the Trophy semi-final, but Swinderby A made it through to the final over the Cup where they lost to a very good North Scarle team. Over the 9 matches, it is the best I have ever seen them play. Well done! We did come home with one trophy – Swinderby A had Player of the Tournament.

Girls Football Competition

On Friday 28th June a team of KS2 girls competed in a Football competition. Though the girls were very nervous, they did not let that stop them having a great time and working fantastically together. Throughout the day their confidence grew. We had some great saves by our fantastic goal keeper and we scored a great goal! Well done girls!

From 9:30am - 11:30am the children participated in a range of Tag Rugby skills which enabled them to develop their understanding of the game. In the afternoon they played 7 mini games of Tag Rugby. Though the children were a little bit nervous at the start of their first game, they worked together and communicated well, allowing them to win their first game. Both Miss Maloney and Mr Owen were impressed with their behaviour, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. Well done!!

Netball & Football Kits

We have been very lucky to have both new Football and Netball Kits purchased this year. This has all been because of our sponsors - The Lost Village. I think you would all agree, the teams look very smart.
